All media organisations in Ireland and Britain have been asked to observe a one minute silence tomorrow in memory of murdered journalist Mr Martin O’Hagan.
The National Union of Journalists called for the show of respect and solidarity today, and urged media companies to open books of condolences at their offices.
NUJ General Secretary Mr John Foster said this was to allow colleagues and members of the public to "express their condolences and also their outrage at the murder".
A book of condolences will be opened to the public at Liberty Hall, Dublin tomorrow morning.
