The deaths of two more people on the State's roads have increased to 314 the number of people killed on the roads so far this year.
A 75-year-old woman has died in hospital following an accident in Galway on Thursday. She has been named as Bridie Greally of Loughanan Place, Galway.
She was struck by a truck at Foster Street in the city.
Meanwhile an 81-year-old man has died following a crash in Carlow. He was named last night as Vincent McDonald of Ballyconnell, Tullow, Co Carlow.
Mr McDonald was the driver of a car involved in a collision with another vehicle at Ballyknockan in Leighlinbridge late on Friday.
A 21-year-old woman died in a crash near Ballymoney, Co Antrim, last night, the Police Service of Northern Ireland said. The collision took place at Frosses Road at around 9.35pm.
The woman was a passenger in a Renault car that left the road at the Drones Road junction. Two men and a second woman she was travelling with were hospitalised.
The men have since been discharged but the other woman remains in hospital.

The deaths came as Minister of State at the Department of Transport Pat the Cope Gallagher attended a European conference in Italy at which delegates were seeking to find ways of stopping the road carnage across the EU.
