A woman taking up a collection for striking nurses without a permit was arrested in O'Connell Street, Dublin, at lunchtime yesterday during the protest march by up to 10,000 nurses. The woman was taken to Store Street Garda station where she was charged before being released on bail. Last night gardai confirmed she was charged with an offence under Section 3 and Section 14 of the Street and House to House Collection Act of 1962. She is due to appear before Dublin District Court on November 5th.
