Nurses who were recently denied improvements in their pay and conditions by the Labour Court will consider today whether or not to support a campaign of action, including industrial action, when they meet in Dublin.

Up to 1,000 nurses, who are members of the Irish Nurses' Organisation (INO) and the Psychiatric Nurses' Association (PNA), are to meet at the Helix theatre in Dublin City University.

The court rejected the claim for a 10.6 per cent pay rise and a shorter week, which it said had to be pursued through benchmarking.
