Sweden's Henrik Nystrom and Greg Owen of England shared the lead at the end of the first round of the 2.5
million dollar German Masters at the end of play today. Both Nystrom and Owen shot seven-under par rounds of 65, one shot ahead of Argentina's Ricordo Gonzales and Australia's John Senden. America's former British Open champion John Daly, who clinched the Munich International crown last month, was one-under par at the end of the first round. Darren Clarke is the best of the Irish having shot a four-under 68. Paul McGinley and Padraig Harrington both came in with two-under rounds of 70, while Des Smyth is one further back with a 71. AFP
