Fit-again Ronan O'Gara returned to competitive action today following the ankle injury that kept him out of Ireland's opening Six Nations successes and steered Cork Constitution to a 41-15 victory over UL Bohemians at Thomond Park.

The Munster star wasted no time in making an impact as he scored Con's opening try before Derek Dillon and O'Gara's Ireland teammate, Frankie Sheahan, grabbed a score each.

Philip van Esbeck's try 11 minutes into the second half gave ULB some hope but that was quashed when Ronan O'Donovan ran in Cork Con's fourth of the afternoon.

O'Gara confirmed his return to competitive rugby when he converted two late tries from Dillon - his second - and Gerry Murphy.

Clontarf maintained their dominance at the top of the table with a 32-10 win over Carlow - gaining a bonus point in the process.

Lansdowne responded accordingly as they scored the all important four tries to secure a bonus point on their way to a 13-26 win over Garryowen.

It took a solid second half showing from the visitors to overturn Garryowen's 13-7 half-time lead but thanks to some nifty work from their backs, Lansdowne scored three tries without reply through Brian O' Mahony, Fiachra Baines and Killian Kennedy.

A dominant first half performance by Ballymena laid the foundation for their 42-31 victory over Galwegians, despite the visitors fighting their way back into the game in the second half.

Ballymena scored five first half tries through Matt Waterhouse (2), Andy Graham, Russell Nelson and Mark Blair to lead 32-10 at the break. Gavin Duffy scored Galwegians only try in that half.

Both sides touched down at the start of the second half before Ballymena let their opponents back into the tie.

Martin McPhail and Alex Paige both ran in tries late on with Elwood converting to make for an anxious finish. But it was too little too late for Galwegians who are seeking a play-off spot.

Buccaneers completed a winning sweep for the top quartet with a 14-8 win over Dungannon at Ericsson Park.

UCD v St Mary's, Terenure v Belfast Harlequins and Blackrock v Shannon were all postponed.
