Ireland’s Gillian O'Sullivan has finished fourth in the women’s 20km walk at the European Athletics Championships.
O’Sullivan, who was 10th at the Sydney Olympics two years ago, shattered her personal best by 25 seconds to finish just outside of the medals. Fellow Irish Walker Olive Loughnane was 13th.
Russia's world record holder Olimpiada Ivanova won the event in one hour 26 minutes 42 seconds from team-mate Yelena Nikolayeva (1:28.20) and Italy's Erica Alfridi (1:28.33).
