O2 Ireland has posted profits of £208 million (€205.7 million) for the year ending March 31st, 2004.
The company also reported an increase in customers of 11 per cent to bring its Irish customer base total to 1.391 million users.
O2 reported strong operating performance delivered across the group, with a total increase in its customer base of 14 per cent, bringing the total number of users to to 20.7 million from the previous year's 18.2 million.
The average revenue per user (ARPU) increased by an average of €13 to €559. Ireland now has the highest ARPU of all countries in the O2 group.
Capital expenditure was reduced from £59 million (€86.6 million) in 2003 to £52 million (€76 million) in 2004.
Internationally, the group reported strong operating performance across the group. In addition to the growth in its overall customer base, total revenue grew by 22 per cent and its operating profit grew to £435 million - €638 million with basic earnings per share of 1.9 pence (2.7 cent).
