Athens - An unidentified aircraft on the holiday island of Corfu has fuelled rumours that Kurdish guerrilla chief Abdullah Ocalan had come to Greece, but the government reiterated that he was not in the country. Ocalan, Turkey's most wanted man, was denied permission to land in the Netherlands on Monday, and subsequently vanished.

Local authorities said the aircraft carried a Greek businessman. When pressed, a senior police officer in Corfu said the aircraft's landing involved a "national matter" and refused to elaborate.
