The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Maurice Ahern, says he thinks he would have a fairly shrewd idea what was going through brother Bertie's mind. The other brother, Noel, told the Irish Examiner this week: "I'm straighter. If you look me in the eye, you'll know what I'm thinking. If you look Bertie in the eye, it's quite difficult to know what he's thinking".
Maurice Ahern says he works very closely on political matters with the Taoiseach. "Even though Noel is in the Dail and I am not, I think I would be closer to Bertie in political terms. I am an alderman for half of his constituency. Noel is in a different constituency. I didn't actually see what Noel said, I just heard some ribbing about it at a Corporation meeting."
