Jose Maria Olazabal made a welcome return to form this morning, recording a six-under-par 65 at the Scottish Open.
The Spaniard, who began his round at one over par, moved into a share of 11th place with a round of six birdies including four in succession from the 12th hole.
Olazabal missed the cut in his previous three events and has dropped to 13th on the Ryder Cup points table.
Denmark's Soren Hansen had the best round early round today, a seven-under-par 64, that lifted him to a share of sixth place.
Overnight leader, and newly crowned US Open champion Retief Goosen, who leads the event by two strokes from Australia's Adam Scott at 11 under par, was due to start his third round at midday.
Paul McGinley is the best placed of the Irish contenders and shares third place on seven under par. In-form Darren Clarke is two shots back after two holes of his third round.
