Tributes to a woman believed to be the world's oldest Twitter user flooded the internet today following her death at the age of 104.
Staff at the Hillside Manor residential home in Bradford, West Yorkshire, confirmed that Ivy Bean died just after midnight.
Ms Bean began tweeting in 2008 and gathered over 58,000 followers.
Among those tracking her posts about her daily life at the home were singer Peter Andre, whom she met and tweeted about regularly, and DJ Chris Evans.
Ms Bean began using Twitter after gathering an equally impressive following on Facebook which she began using in 2007, rapidly becoming an online sensation.
She posted regularly on everything from the fish and chips she enjoyed every week to what TV shows she was watching.
When she became ill recently, her Twitter profile was taken over by home manager Pat Wright, who kept her thousands of followers updated on her progress.
Today Mrs Wright posted: "Ivy passed away peacefully at 12.08 this morning."
