Muscat - Some 24,000 illegal workers were expelled from Oman between January and April, Oman's minister for social affairs and work has announced. "The Omani authorities expelled some 24,000 foreign nationals living illegally in the country and who had not regularised their situation," Mr Amer ibn Shwain al-Hosni said.
At the end of March the Omani government extended by one month to April 30th an amnesty permitting foreigners illegally in the country to legalise their status.
