Canadian tween idol Justin Bieber will return to Ireland early next year, much to the delight of his many rabid devotees.
The platinum-selling 18-year-old pop star, whose chart-topping album Believe was released earlier this year, will play a concert at the O2 in Dublin on February 17th.
Enthusiastic Irish fans – known to themselves and others as Beliebers – poured onto Twitter to express their unbridled joy at the coming of their squeaky-clean messiah after the announcement was made.
“So Justin Bieber is coming to DUBLIN February 17th, I will chop my arm off just to go an see him. Honestly I have to be there!” said one fan.
Bieber’s clean-cut ballads and heartthrob image has also earned him an older following, which is likely to bring in hundreds of over 30s among the throngs of teenagers expected to attend the concert.
“Get your cougar claws ready - we're so there!” said one older female fan.
Bieber was mobbed on Grafton Street last year when he and his entourage popped out to do a bit of shopping. He might be advised to get a minion to go for him this time.
Tickets got on sale at 9.00am on August 16th. Knock yourselves out.
