One man is still being questioned in Cork today after the seizure of drugs and cash worth €250,000 yesterday evening.
The operation began at 6.45 p.m. when a car was stopped at Ballinrea Road, Carrigaline, Co Cork. Cocaine with a street value of €25,000 was discovered by gardaí. One man was arrested.
A short time later another car was stopped and searched at the Douglas exit of the South Link Road. Cocaine worth €75,000 was found and another man was arrested.
In a follow-up search of a house near Grange, Douglas, €30,000 in cash was seized.
Later, a house search Mount Rivers, Carrigaline yielded 3000 ecstasy tablets. One man was arrested Detained at Togher. In a third follow-up search in the Blackrock area of Cork, 10 kilogrammes of cannabis resin were seized.
A Garda spokesman said two of the men were released but one was still in custody under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
