First it was The Three Tenors, then The Three Irish Tenors. Now greet The three Irish Sopranos. Well, two sopranos and a mezzo actually,. Sinead Blanchfield, Deirdre Masterson and Regina Hanley (she's the mezzo) have pooled their talents and their repertoire and come up with a winning combination of feather-light favourites from the mainstream operatic repertoire and the gentler charms of Irish traditional song. Sure you could nearly write the programme yourself: a morsel of Magic Flute, a chunk of Carmen, Mi Chiamano Mimi, O Mio Babbino Caro. But don't be deceived - when it comes to singing, these ladies are the real McCoy, with burgeoning international careers, impressive classical pedigrees and all the rest of it, and they'll be in action at the John Field Room of the National Concert Hall next Friday (November 19th) at 1.05 p.m.
