A British theatre company has planned a season of outdoor festivals across Ireland this summer.
Chapterhouse Theatre Company will appear at several arts events across the country with its open-air production of William Shakespeare's comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Producer Richard Main said yesterday the company was taking the 400-year-old fairytale play to eight locations during July. It will start on July 5th at Boyle Arts Festival in Co Roscommon, before moving to play Muckross House at the Killarney Summerfest in Co Kerry on July 7th.
It will also play at the National Botanical Gardens in Dublin on July 8th; Belvedere House Gardens and Park, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, on July 9th; and Avondale House and Forest Park in Co Wicklow on July 10th.
The company, which has been touring the UK for six seasons, will perform at Castle Leslie Estate in Co Monaghan on July 12th and 14th; Co Antrim's Marine Gardens on July 15th - the first time it will have performed in Northern Ireland; and Letterkenny Town Park in Co Donegal as part of the Earagail Arts Festival on July 16th.
