The State has discontinued outstanding sexual abuse charges against a Co Sligo man who is awaiting sentence for forcing sex on his sister and sexually abusing her, his daughter and another girl over 12 years. Mr Michael Durack SC, prosecuting, told the Central Criminal Court yesterday that the indictment against the 40-year-old defendant had been split and subsequently he had been convicted of a number of the charges. On June 13th, the man , who can not be identified, pleaded guilty to 11 charges of indecent assault. He was later convicted by a jury of having unlawful carnal knowledge of his sister twice.
Mr Justice Geoghegan will deal with the sentence hearing on October 10th.
