Ireland goalkeeping legend Packie Bonner is set to take up his first ever full managerial job tomorrow when he signs a deal with Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock, according to reports in Scotland.
Kilmarnock Chairman Sir John Orr is said to be keen to hire Bonner to form a managerial tandem with former Celtic teammate Tommy Burns.
It is understood Bonner would be allowed to continue in his role as goalkeeping coach to the Irish national team. Similarly, Burns, who is currently the head of Celtic's youth programme, would not be prevented from working as part-time assistant to new Scotland boss Berti Vogts.
Burns has managed Kilmarnock once before, when he guided them to two successive promotions in the early 90s.
Bobby Williamson resigned as Kilmarnock manager two days ago and has since taken charge of Hibernian.
