Painter and printmaker John Kelly has died at his home in Dublin at the age of 74.

Born in 1932, Kelly studied at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin where he later lectured in printmaking.
He participated in many Irish and international exhibitions, and, as a member of the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA), he exhibited work annually at the RHA.
Kelly represented Ireland at Cagnes-sur-Mer in 1977, where he won first prize.
He was director of the Graphic Studio in Dublin for more than 10 years and was a founding member of the Black Church Print Studio.
His work is held in public collections at the several public galleries in Dublin including The Hugh Lane and Trinity College.
Director of the Arts Council Mary Cloake said: "John Kelly was a skilled printmaker and did a great deal to advance the art of printmaking in Ireland both by his example and by his teaching. He made work of enduring quality.
"A gentle and learned man, he was also a gifted and loved teacher. Our deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Máiread and daughters at this time."
