First Minister and DUP leader Ian Paisley had denounced the sectarian attacks in north Belfast which have forced a family with a new-born child to leave their home, writes Dan Keenan.
Two houses in the loyalist Twaddell Avenue area near the interface with Ardoyne were attacked overnight yesterday. It was the latest in what residents and local politicians say is a protracted series of sectarian incidents.
In this latest attack a petrol bomb exploded against the window of a room were an 18-day-old infant was sleeping.
No-one was hurt but the family have said they have had enough and are moving out. The incident has prompted a wave of condemnation from nationalists and unionists. Sinn Féin councillor Margaret McClenaghan and SDLP North Belfast Assembly member Alban Maginness condemned the attack.
