Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian militant during a shootout at a house in the West Bank town of Jenin today, medics and witnesses said.
The gunman was identified as a member of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, linked to Palestinian President Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, medics said.
An Israeli military source confirmed that soldiers had clashed with a gunman, but gave no details of casualties.
In a separate incident, soldiers found two bombs hidden in schoolbags near the West Bank town of Qalqilya, the military source said.
