The Palestinian Authority has condemned the assassination of Israeli right-wing cabinet minister Mr Rehavam Zeevi but also urged Israel to stop its policy of killing Palestinians.
"We feel sorry about this assassination. We reject all forms of political assassinations", cabinet minister Mr Yasser Abed Rabbo.
"We want to put an end to this vicious cycle of killings although Mr Zeevi had adopted hostile positions and policies against our people", said Mr Abed Rabbo.
"But we still consider that political assassination should not be the answer".
The Palestinian Authority, which is under US pressure to rein in militants and prevent attacks on Israelis, accuses Israel of assassinating more than 60 Palestinians since an uprising against Israeli occupation began a year ago.
