Former US vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has said she could defeat President Barack Obama if she was to seek the White House in 2012.
In an excerpt from an ABC News interview, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee said she was considering a presidential run.
When asked directly if she thought she could defeat the Democrat president, the former Alaska governor replied: “I believe so.”
An Associated Press-GfK poll this month found Mrs Palin the most polarising of the potential 2012 Republican presidential candidates.
The poll said 46 per cent of Americans view her favourably, 49 per cent unfavourably, and 5 per cent do not know enough about her to form an opinion.
Among adults who identified themselves as Republicans or Republican-leaning independents, 79 per cent view her favourably.
