The Sam Maguire Cup will be carried at the head of the Galway parade which is expected to be watched by a crowd of about 25,000 people. It starts at Newcastle Road and finishes at the reviewing stand on Eyre Square.

The parade starts half-an-hour later than usual, at 12.30 p.m. but traffic will be prohibited along the route from noon. Parking will not be allowed from 6 a.m. One of the highlights of the parade will be the original armoured car used by Michael Collins as Army commander-in-chief in 1922.

Limerick:

Over 30,000 people are expected at the Limerick parade which is part of the city's Civic Week celebrations. The parade will start at 11.30 a.m. at Sarsfield Barracks and proceed past the reviewing stand at the Royal George Hotel on O'Connell Street on a 1 1/2-mile route.

It will be led by the West Point Academy Pipe and Drums Band. There are 60 groups in the parade, with some 5,000 people directly involved in all.

Waterford:

The parade will leave the Military Barracks at midday and travel down Bunkers Hill where the walking party will join the main parade. Floats will join in behind the walking party from Bath Street.

The review stand is at the Mall. The Yellow Velvet Street Theatre company will perform street carnival along the route about half-an-hour before the main event and live music will be performed from the review stand.

Wexford: The parade will set off from William Street at 10.30 a.m. and will be preceded by the blessing of the shamrock at 10 a.m. Mass in Rowe Street church.

Sligo:

The parade will start at midday at Mailcoach Road and pass the reviewing stand outside the Clarence Hotel in Wine Street.

Letterkenny:

Station Roundabout is the departure point for the parade which starts at 3 p.m. and will pass the reviewing stand at Market Square.

Dundalk:

The parade will set off at 2.30 p.m. from Philip Street and will pass the review stand at the Courthouse. It will be preceded by entertainments along the route from 1.30 p.m. One of the most interesting floats promises to be from the Dundalk Youth Theatre who have had help in their preparations from Galway's Macnas.

Athlone:

The new shopping centre at Golden Island is the departure point for the parade which starts at 3 p.m. with a pipe band colour party.
