IFA president Mr Tom Parlon, has welcomed the support offered by Irish banks to farmers affected by foot-and-mouth disease restrictions.
He said: "All the main lending institutions are adopting a responsible and supportive position towards farmers on the foot-and-mouth crisis."
Mr Parlon's comments came at the conclusion of a series of meetings this week with all the main lending institutions to agriculture.
Mr Parlon advised any farmer worried about his or her ability to meet agreed repayment commitments due to foot-and-mouth Disease restrictions to contact their bank as soon as possible.
