A passenger plan with two hundred people on board was forced to make an emergency landing in Shannon Airport this morning.

A passenger plan with two hundred people on board was forced to make an emergency landing in Shannon Airport this morning.

The scheduled US Airways flight 306 from Philadelphia to Dublin was diverted after a 'major electrical fire' was reported on board.

It is understood the fire on the Boeing 767 stared in a forward cargo hold. The plane landed safely shortly before 11 a.m. with the emergency services in attendance.

There were no reports of any injuries and the 190 passengers are being transferred to Dublin by bus.
