More than £30,000 worth of diamonds that were dropped on a Galway street by armed raiders have been returned by members of the public.

The shop-owner, Mr Robert Blacoe, thanked those who returned the diamonds, saying: "Their honesty is much appreciated by us". Gardai at Mill Street station (091) 563161) are looking for information about the incident.
