Scotland coach Matt Williams has handed captain Chris Paterson the full-back berth for the final RBS 6 Nations game against Ireland on Saturday.
Paterson will start at 15 at Lansdowne Road in a move that has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks.
Dan Parks will begin at out-half in place of Paterson a week after many expected Williams to name the same selection against France. Derrick Lee drops to the replacements' bench to allow his skipper take the number 15 jersey.
Williams will give flanker Cameron Mather as much time as necessary to recover from a chest and shoulder injury but has named Allister Hogg at number seven as well.
Ben Hinshelwood and Simon Cross will travel with the team to Dublin as cover for injuries.
Williams said: "We've lost our last four games so, in terms of confidence, obviously, we're not bubbling. We've been working very hard, but the sad thing is we're falling below the standards we expected.
"I feel sorry for the players because they have been very dedicated and I've kept saying to them the win will come but it will take time," Williams said.
