A man who admitted having £100,000 worth of counterfeit bank notes has been described as "a patsy" by his defence counsel in Trim Circuit Court. Val Floyd (53), of Boyne Valley Cottages, Lower Mell, Drogheda, Co Meath, pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of the bank notes at Hammondstown, Ashbourne, on April 9th last year. Judge Ray Groarke accepted Floyd received no profit from the crime. He imposed a three-year sentence, suspended on him entering a £100 bond to keep the peace for two years.
