The partnership talks will move on to the key issue of pay next week after agreement was reached tonight among the social partners on employment standards.
Following 12 weeks of negotiations between Congress, Government and Employers, a series of draft reform proposals covering the area of employment standards has been drawn up.
Ictu confirmed tonight that "sufficient progress" had been made on labour market reform to allow the pay module to begin in the next step towards a new Sustaining Progress agreement. It is expected the pay element of the talks will begin next week, after the May Day public holiday.
