A 68-year-old pedestrian has died after being struck by a car on the M7 in Co Kildare.
The man was killed shortly after 11am at the junction of the M7 and M9.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Naas General Hospital.
A number of lanes were closed after the collision to facilitate a Garda forensic examination and delays stretched for over 17km. All lanes have now re-opened to traffic.
