Three pensioners were left shocked and shaken after robbers ransacked their homes in Armagh and Tyrone, police said today.
A couple in their 80s were threatened when at least four men forced the front door of their home in Ashlea Close, Markethill, last night.
The elderly pair, who were in the living room, were threatened before the house was ransacked and a sum of cash taken.
Police said one of the intruders was described as tall, wearing a hooded navy top and having his face covered with a scarf. He was also wearing gloves.
Earlier, an 80-year-old man was left badly shaken after being held down during an aggravated burglary at his home in Co Tyrone, police said.
Four men forced their way into his house in the village of Tullaghoge, near Cookstown. One subdued him in one room while the
other three ransacked the rest of the property, taking cash.
Police have appealed for witnesses or information about both robberies. They said there was nothing at present to suggest the same gang was involved in the two incidents.
