Thirteen months after Ronald Reagan's beloved Rancho del Cielo in California went on the market for £3.75 million, there appears to be a serious buyer: US taxpayers. A proposed deal has Congress appropriating £3 million, which the Interior Department will give to California to buy the ranch as a public park.
"President Reagan spent many blissful years at Rancho del Cielo - it was his slice of heaven," his spokesman, Joanne Drake, said. "It would make the Reagans happy knowing that the public was enjoying the ranch for both its beauty and historical significance."
Two months after he died on July 15th, filming is under way on the first movie about the slaying of Italian designer Gianni Versace. Directed by Menahem Golan, with Shane Perdue as the presumed killer, Andrew Cunanan, and Franco Nero portraying Versace, the low-budget film is expected to be out around Christmas.

Jade, who combines the stunning looks of her mother, Bianca, with those of her Rolling Stone father, tells Marie Claire she has tried every different remedy for the irritating and blotchy skin complaint, and says she felt "to blame" for the condition when she was a child.
