A biography of French film star Alain Delon will not be published while a Paris court examines an appeal against the project, the actor's lawyer said yesterday.
In November Delon lost his case when a Paris court ruled that it was based on the contents of a synopsis, written by journalist Bernard Violet, which was a "simple working document". The court said it did not have any power of control on publications not yet finalised.
Actor Derek Nimmo has recovered consciousness and been moved out of intensive care after his fall at home more than a month ago, his agent said yesterday.
Nimmo (68) has been moved on to a ward at London's Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, but is suffering from a chest infection and still cannot speak.
Celebrated French jazz pianist Michel Petrucciani died on Wednesday, aged 36, in a New York hospital. He suffered from osteogenesis, a rare bone disease that restricted his height to just three feet.
Petrucciani was born in Orange, France. He learned jazz piano from the age of 4. By 16 he was leading and recording with his own trio.

Reader's Digest magazine yesterday named Danish physician Inge Genefke its 1998 European of the Year for her work with torture victims.
Ms Genefke (60), a neurologist who heads the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims, was chosen by editors of the magazine's 20 European editions.
