A Suede soundtrack plays over the words: "Every day for as long as he can remember, he's had football boots on his feet and Brylcreem in his hair." Beckhamee Victoria Adams of the Spice Girls next year, is said to have been paid £1 million for the advertising deal.

Seven Samurai director Akira Kurosawa, who died at the weekend aged 88, is to be considered for one of Japan's highest civil prizes, a People's Honour award, which has only been previously received by 13 people.
