Spanish singer Julio Iglesias has cancelled a concert in Beirut because key members of his band have Israeli stamps in their passports, organisers said yesterday.
Iglesias was due to hold three shows in Beirut this summer. Iglesias's office cited a US travel ban as a further reason not to perform, but the ban was in fact removed last week.
One of the stars of television's Gladiators appeared in court yesterday accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The star known as Warrior, Michael Ahearne (36), of Oxton, Wirral, is charged with conspiring with intent to pervert the course of justice with three other men. They were committed for trial at Liverpool Crown Court on September 15th.
Diana, Princess of Wales, is to visit Bosnia this week to camp[aign against land mines, the Express newspaper reports today.
The visit, starting of Friday, and lasting three to four days, has received official approval, said the paper, quoting unnamed Foreign Office sources. Her trip, on behalf of the red Cross, is also believed to have the blessing of British Prime Minister, Mr Blair, it said.
Her visit will mirror her previous trips to Africa, including visits to mine victims and seeing mine clearing in the former war zone, said the report.
