Snack and soft-drink maker PepsiCo said today second-quarter profits jumped 16 per cent, boosted by volume gains across all of its divisions.
The maker of Pepsi soft drinks and Tropicana juices said it earned $652 million, compared with a profit of $563 milliona year earlier.
Sales jumped to $5.28 billion from $4.93 billion a year earlier.
PepsiCo is still looking to complete its acquisition of Chicago-based Quaker Oats. PepsiCo said last month the acquisition would be delayed until the third quarter as talks with US Federal Trade Commission officials continued.
