Two Orange halls were attacked with petrol bombs in Co Antrim, police said today.
Scorch damage was caused to the front door of one property on main street, Rasharkin, some time between last night and today.
Ballymoney DUP councillor John Finlay said: “This sectarian violence and trouble has gone on long enough and it must end. I call upon Sinn Féin to do more and step up when it comes to these attacks. We cannot let this escalate into the summer months."
In a separate incident, a petrol bomb was thrown at an Orange hall in Glarryford. Scorch damage to the wall of the hall at Duneany Road was discovered this morning.
Sinn Féin MLA Daithi McKay condemned the attacks and criticised Cllr Finlay.
“To try and use these sectarian attacks as an excuse to attack Sinn Féin is just another attempt by the DUP to try and put a wedge between communities here,” he said.
“The DUP are not serious about resolving the problems in the village (of Rasharkin) in a mature political manner but using the problems as an excuse to attack ourselves."
