WRITERS ANNE Enright and Dermot Bolger, artist Robert Ballagh, comedian Kevin McAleer and actor Pat Kinevan are to take part in Phizzfest, a new arts festival to be held in Phibsborough, Dublin, next week.
The festival, which runs from September 9th to 12th, will feature exhibitions, plays, readings, tours of historic buildings, concerts and cookery demonstrations in almost 40 locations around the north Dublin suburb.
Literary events include a reading by Anne Enright, followed by a question and answer session chaired by RTÉ broadcaster Cathal Mac Coille; A Fist Full of Bolgers, an evening combining the poetry of Dermot Bolger and original songs of his sons Diarmuid and Donnacha Bolger; and a talk on sculptor Edward Delaney by his son, writer Eamon Delaney.
Fishamble theatre company will present Forgotten. Written and performed by Pat Kinevan, the play portrays four characters between the ages of 80 and 100 years who reside in care facilities and retirement homes.
Tours will be given of historic buildings such as the Kings Inns and Broadstone Station, and exhibitions and guided walks will focus on the history of Phibsborough. See phizzfest.ie.
