London - The last published words of the Jewish-born philosopher, Sir Isaiah Berlin, called for the partition of Israel as being "the only correct solution" for the Middle East, a British newspaper reported yesterday. The outspoken deathbed appeal was disclosed by Sir Isaiah's literary trustees to coincide with the visit to Britain of the Israeli Prime Mini ster, Mr Benjamin Netanyahu, for talks on the stalled Middle East peace process, the Guardian newspaper said.
Sir Isaiah, who died in Oxford last week, aged 88, was worried by Mr Netanya hu's hardline stance on the Palestinian question.
