A large section of the main road through the Phoenix Park in Dublin will be closed for up to three months from October to facilitate repairs.
Serious traffic disruption is expected to users of the park as almost all of Chesterfield Avenue will be closed to traffic, with a one-way system to be put in place inside the park. The works will last for up to 12 weeks.
Minister of State for the Office of Public Works Brian Hayes said Chesterfield Avenue “was never designed to take the volume and weight of traffic and the condition of the road has been a cause of increasing concern”.
