Santiago - Gen Augusto Pinochet's former secret police chief has been arrested in connection with the murder of a union leader in 1982, judicial sources said yesterday.
Gen Humberto Gordon was ordered to be held in detention by Judge Sergio Munoz Gajardo on Wednesday for alleged complicity in the killing of Tucapel Jimenez, head of the white collar national association of taxation workers. A member of Gen Pinochet's ruling junta, Gen Gordon was charged along with another retired general, Gen Roberto Schmied, also implicated in the murder.
