London - Playwright Harold Pinter yesterday accused the British Prime Minister, Mr Tony Blair, of getting "great excitement" from bombing Serbia.
His comments came as he called for Mr Slobodan Milosevic's war crimes prosecution to be dropped, amid claims the tribunal in The Hague is illegitimate.
Asked whether he agreed that Mr Blair had had to force a reluctant former US President Bill Clinton to get involved, Pinter told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "Mr Blair was well to the forefront . . . He loves to drop a few bombs. It gives him, I think, great excitement."
Labour MP Mr David Winnick said it was "nonsense" to suggest Mr Blair delighted in having people killed.
