A book is about to be born, and the women come from far and near. This is the first collection of plays by women in Ireland, says its editor, Cathy Leeney. Five of the six playwrights come to the Project for the official launch of the volume, Seen and Heard, published by Carysfort Press. Mary Elizabeth Burke-Kennedy, Dolores Walshe, Michelle Read, Anne Le Marquand Hartigan and S∅ofra Campbell (over on a break from New York to attend) are all as proud as punch of their works. Novelist Emma Donoghue is the only one who is marked "as lβthair".
