The High Court today rejected an application to shut down a Dublin nursing home that a health board claimed had breached several regulations.

Ms Justice Mary Finlay-Geoghegan ruled that Rostrevor nursing home could remain open as the South Western Area Health Board had no powers under current legislation to close it.

The court had heard earlier claims by Health Board inspectors that the Rathgar premises, which had 23 residents, breached regulations regarding staffing, staff training and drug administration.
