This first study from the National Consultative Committee on Racism and Interculturalism (NCCRI) was conducted through Polish to better judge the migrants' experience of living and working in Ireland.

The Polish Migrant Workers in Irelandreport found that racism and negative stereotyping is a serious concern for Polish migrants.

Researchers also identified a number of cases where employers were alleged to be paying below the minimum wage, with those interviewed reluctant to complain for fear of losing their jobs.

A lack of fluency in English is another reason why many Polish migrants find it difficult to defend their rights.

According to the NCCRI more needs to be done to provide language tuition for migrants.
