Essex police are examining Mr Michael Barrymore's house after gaining a search warrant.

Essex police are examining Mr Michael Barrymore's house after gaining a search warrant.

The move comes after the entertainer's bail was extended to October after he answered bail in Harlow, Essex, over alleged drugs offences.

The police say Mr Barrymore's bail was extended because of new information.

Mr Barrymore will have to wait up to two months to find out if he will be charged.

Mr Barrymore was arrested in June on suspicion of possession and supply of a Class B drug, possession of a Class A drug and allowing premises to be used for the taking of a Class B drug.

Mr Lubbock, 31, a butcher's assistant from Harlow, was found floating in a swimming pool at Mr Barrymore's home on March 31st.

The spokeswoman said Mr Barrymore would not be allowed to stay at his house during the searches, which could last up to two days.

Detective Superintendent Ian McNeill said the new information had led forensic officers to search in specific areas inside and outside the house.

Mr Barrymore's solicitor Mr David Corker said: "There has never been any suggestion that Mr Barrymore is a suspect in any homicide inquiry.

"He is coping with it as well as can be expected in the circumstances. He's taking it in good spirits and co-operating fully."
