London - Police searching for a missing toddler last night found the body of a child.
The body was found in a pond next to the house in North Pickenham where Ben Lanchbury was last seen yesterday lunchtime.
Insp David Chilvers said: "It is with great regret that at 11.30 p.m. the body of a child was recovered from a pond near the premises where Ben Lanchbury disappeared earlier today.
"It is too early to make any further comment at this stage and too early to rule out any possibility." He said the body had yet to be formally identified and would give no further details about the dead child's description. He added that Ben's parents, Mark and Janice Lanchbury of Swaffham, Norfolk, were being informed of the discovery.
