Adelaide - Australian police searching for the missing British tourist, Mr Peter Falconio, said yesterday they had found an unidentified body in outback desert scrubland, but had not linked the two cases.
Police said the body of a Caucasian man had been found by local people on Sunday at a roadside rest stop in scrubland off a major highway about 60km south of the central Australian town of Alice Springs.
Police commander Col Hardman said the news had "distressed" Mr Falconio's girlfriend, Ms Joanne Lees (27), and his brother Paul, but he cautioned there was "no obvious link" to the Briton's disappearance.
